Pattern: BurdaStyle’s Basic Bodice Sloper
Modification: I altered this pattern a lot, that is what slopers are made for! I eliminated the darts, left the back seam open, and drafted a combined neckline/armhole facing. This modification and project was for my Pattern Play column in the Apr/May 17′ issue. Download the issue here.
Fabric: I was sent the Realigned Blush fabric from Art Gallery Fabrics to make this top for the magazine.
Notes: This top actually came about from filming a video for my Sloper Course that showed how to sew a combined armhole/neckline facing and my co-worker pointed out afterwards that I would make a cute cropped dot. Since I didn’t mark the darts I just put it on and liked the silhouette and then thought why not leave the back un-sewn and keep it just together at the top!
