Patterns: BurdaStyle’s Top #127 06/2016 & Swimsuit Sloper
Modification: I made the coverup robe as per the pattern, except for the fact that I made it a tiny bit wider to have the side edges exposed because the frayed selvedge edges of my fabric were quite cool. Then for the swimsuit, I used a sloper pattern that I made strapless and elasticated the center front to created a little visual interest. To add extra support I sewed up a strap that I criss-crossed in the front.
Fabric: Green lycra for the swimsuit from Fabricland, and pre-embroidered chiffon from King Textiles in Toronto.
Notes: The coverup is not only for the beach! I also sewed one up for my aunt and she wears it over a white blouse and skinny jeans for a night out.
