Pants with Side Slits

Patterns: BurdaStyle’s Wide Leg Sweatpants02/2019 #112 & Off-the-Shoulder Blouse 02/2017 #116

Modification: I really modified both the top and bottoms to this outfit. To start with the pants, I wanted to create a summery pair that I could wear as beach pants as well as ones for the day time. I thought to create big side seam slits so they opened as I walked. Then for the top I omitted the sleeve flounces on the pattern and then also created this center front hem pleat. I wasn’t planning on doing this until I tried it on and thought one would look nice and taper in the hemline because the fabric was stiffer than the one intended for the pattern. Love it even more now!

Fabric: The pants fabric is a striped rayon cotton voile from Blackbird Fabrics, which I love. For the top I had some leftover yellow twill from this skirt that I used.
